Overview
JAFX Advanced SMC is a comprehensive, professional-grade indicator designed for traders who utilize Smart Money Concepts (SMC) and ICT trading methodologies. This tool eliminates the need for manual charting by automatically mapping out market structure, order blocks, and key liquidity zones across multiple timeframes.
The indicator is built with performance in mind, caching ATR data and limiting chart object creation to the live candle, ensuring smooth operation even on historical data loads.
Key Features
- Market Structure (BOS & CHoCH): Automatically detects Swing structure and Internal structure breaks (Break of Structure and Change of Character). You can filter to show only BOS, only CHoCH, or both.
- Order Blocks (OB): Identifies both Internal (reaction zones) and Swing (institutional) order blocks. The zones are dynamically drawn starting exactly from the confirming break, with custom transparency and border styles.
- Premium & Discount Zones: Automatically calculates the range between the last confirmed Swing High and Swing Low, highlighting Premium (sell zone), Equilibrium, and Discount (buy zone) areas.
- Equal Highs / Lows (EQH/EQL): Detects liquidity pools by identifying consecutive swings that form at nearly the same price level, using an ATR-based threshold.
- Strong/Weak High & Low: Labels swing points as HH, HL, LH, LL and dynamically marks Strong/Weak levels based on the current trend direction.
- Multi-Timeframe Dashboard: A sleek, real-time dashboard that displays the current market bias for the chart timeframe, a Higher Timeframe (HTF), and an Intra Timeframe (ITF). It shows Swing bias, Internal bias, and the latest CHoCH/BOS signals.
- Look-Back Period: Limits historical analysis to a specific number of bars, reducing visual clutter and focusing only on recent market data.
How It Works (Logic)
- Pivot Detection: Uses symmetric left-and-right pivot confirmation. Wide-range bars (range >= 2*ATR) are given special handling to detect climax pivots accurately.
- OB Generation: When a structure breaks, the indicator scans the bars between the broken pivot and the confirming break to find the most extreme candle (high/low). The OB is only drawn after the break is confirmed, preventing repainting.
- Mitigation: Order blocks are automatically removed when price closes or wicks beyond the OB level, depending on your mitigation settings.
Input Parameters
- General: Toggle between Historical/Present modes, change color styles, and enable/disable candle coloring.
- Structure: Choose which timeframes to show, adjust pivot lengths (default 50 for Swing, 5 for Internal), and enable/disable HH/HL text labels.
- Order Blocks: Set the maximum number of OBs to display, choose mitigation type (Close or High/Low), and customize OB colors and transparency.
- Dashboard: Adjust the dashboard's X/Y position, font size, and set your preferred HTF and ITF timeframes.
Recommendations
This indicator works seamlessly on all symbols (Forex, Indices, Crypto, Stocks) and timeframes. For best results with the dashboard, it is recommended to set the HTF (Higher Timeframe) higher than your current chart (e.g., H4 or D1) and the ITF (Intra Timeframe) lower than your chart (e.g., M15 or M5).
